Received a Nexus 7 for Christmas

I was very excited on Christmas morning to find a Nexus 7 under the tree with my name on it. So, I am replacing my old tired iPad first generation with this Nexus device and I am very excited. I find that the screen is plenty bright and is a very good viewing size. I find the device to be good in both viewing modes and had a decent build quality. The Nexus has a great weight to it and feels well constructed. The back of the device has a great texture and really makes it easy to hold with a feeling of security. However, I know I will add a case to the device just to add somewhat of a protective lip around the screen. I have always preferred to lay my devices face down in an attempt to provide the screen from dropped items. For this reason I always use a case to create a slight protective ridge around the screen.
The operation of the Nexus is very smooth and responsive. I am finding my self wanting to perform a split screen operation for some reason which is something that I never even considered with the iPad. I have owned several Android phones and currently use a Samsung Galaxy S3 which I enjoy but I really do not like the physical home button. Plus I really enjoy the pure Android experience.
The Jelly Bean operating system is very fluid and visually stunning. I find both the multi tasking to be very easy to use and helpful since it appears as though there is no way to do a split screen on the device.
